![]() Font Designer: Adrian Frutiger, 1998 Frutiger, one of the most famous type designers of our century, is well known for fonts like Avenir®, Linotype Centennial®, Frutiger®, Univers® or Vectora®. Last year, during a discussion on a meeting of the jury for the 2nd International Type Design Contest, he got the idea for this rather unusual type family. Born from playful experiments, Frutiger Stones™ combines both a freely chosen exterior and letters imitating the structures of stone engravings. Unlike the well-known design of stone carved alphabets, the outward appearance of Frutiger Stones looks like natural stones with all their unevennesses. This family is tentious and full of contrasts. It should be used economically but accurately for headlines or as initials. Frutiger Stones can be combined well with serif and sans serif fonts. |
Let the outstanding quality of this typeface convince you.
