About Poppl-Pontifex® font family

The Poppl-Pontifex font family was designed by German calligrapher and teacher Friedrich Poppl in 1974 and released by Berthold in 1975-1976. This was Poppls first text family after a succession of display faces. He based his characters in this alphabet on inscriptional letterforms, creating a good solid, yet lively alternative to Old Style text faces. The Berthold Poppl-Pontifex Expert font family is a collection of ligatures, small caps and old style figures that complement Berthold Poppl-Pontifex.
