Part 3Venture™ Venture Script reflects Hermann Zapfs handwriting. It was originally written with a Japanese feltpen. And like with Zapfs typeface Noris Script™ he wanted to preserve the rough outline of the handwritten form in the final drawings. Venture Script was made also for the Linofilm photocomposing system and released in 1969. ITC Zapf Book® Zapf Book font is a blend of the characteristics of Walbaum, Melior™ and the contrasting weights of Bodoni. It is a typical Zapf font, distinction without eccentricity and superb sensitivity and letterfit, and clearly demonstrates his concern that an alphabet work not just as a collection of single letters, but also have a sense of unity in itself. ITC Zapf Chancery® ITC Zapf Chancery was named after a typeface used in Anglo-Saxon lands during the Renaissance as well as inspired by such scripts. This font makes it possible to give printed items an individual character. The handwriting of the designer can be seen in the forms of this classic, elegant font. ITC Zapf Dingbats® The Zapf Dingbats originally had been a selection of 360 symbols, ornaments and typographic elements from over 1200 designs. The exisiting Zapf Dingbats offers a small selection out of this great offer. Therefore Hermann Zapf created new symbols for the set of the Zapf Dingbats, which are available today from Linotype as "Zapf Essentials™" 6 fonts with new and fresh symbols like fax, cell phone and internet symbols. Zapf Essentials™ Zapf Essentials are digital dingbats and ornaments designed by Hermann Zapf for everyday use and as the name say, you just have to have them! There are endless possibilities for their use, as the six different fonts contain together 372 designs with a variety of current, updated symbols for telephones, cell phones, telefax, and e-mail. Zapf Essentials feature a number oof special charactistics. Besides masculine hands there are also gentler ladie’s hands. (in the old days only men’s hands were available, mostly solid) And there are quick arrows with fading tails to show speed. Zapf Essentials consists of a large variety of applications. Zapf Essentials should be used sparingly to highlight important parts of a text. Get more information about Zapf Essentials. ITC Zapf International® Zapf International font is formal enough for widespread use yet tempered with calligraphic warmth. Vigor in the italics is achieved more from design than from slant. One of the distinguishing characteristics of Zapf International is its graduation of weights. Light and medium are relatively close and equally eloquent for text. Demi is a full two steps heavier than medium and heavy several steps beyond demi. Zapf Renaissance Antiqua™ The Zapf Renaissance Antiqua type family was designed by Hermann Zapf for the German Scangraphic Dr. Böger GmbH in Hamburg, from 1984–1986. The typefaces were engineered for use in digital CRT phototypesetting. Zapf Renaissance Antiqua is a new interpretation of the Palatino family (originally designed by Hermann Zapf for the D. Stempel AG in Frankfurt and for Linotype, from 1948 onward). Zapfino™ Today’s digital font technology allowed Hermann Zapf to finally realize a vision he first had more than fifty years ago: creating a typeface that could capture the freedom and liveliness of beautiful handwriting. The basic Zapfino font family, released in 1998, consists of four alphabets with many additional stylistic alternates that can be freely mixed together to emulate the variations in handwritten text. Zapfino™ Extra In 2003, Herman Zapf completely reworked the Zapfino design, creating Zapfino Extra. This large expansion of the Zapfino family was designed in close collaboration with Akira Kobayashi. Zapfino Extra includes a cornucopia of new characters. It features exuberant hyper-flourishes, elegant small caps, dozens of ornaments, more alternates and ligatures, index characters, and a very useful bold version-named Zapfino Forte. Zapfino Extra is an OpenType format typeface available in two versions. The Contextual version contains a treasure-trove of extra contextual features. When created in 2004, this was the most advanced OpenType font released to date. By purchasing the Contextual version, users of OpenType-supporting applications, such as Adobe InDesign, may access all of the features available in the entire Zapfino family through just two fonts, Zapfino Extra LT Pro (Contextual), and Zapfino Forte LT Pro (Contextual)!
