Josef Tyfa – born 5. 12. 1913 in Náchod-Beloves, Austria-Hungary (tody Czech Republic), died 19. 1. 2007 – typographer, graphic artist, type designer. Studied graphics at the Rotter School in Prague. Then art director for the Centrotex export company. Tyfa has designed logos, posters, postage stamps, book covers and typefaces and won numerous awards, including in 1964 a prize at the 1st Biennale for Graphic-Design in Brno and in 1972 and 1975 for the best book of the year.
