About the FontHellmut G. Bomm, 1997Hellmut G. Bomm about Linotype Humanistika: "A handwritten humanistic minuscule from the end of the 15th century provided the inspiration for the Humanistika. Scripts such as this served as a model for the first roman cast types, such as those from Nikolaus Jenson (1470). I am currently working on extending the Humanistika font by adding an italic and an initials alphabet. The strong modeling and powerful ornamental character create pronounced lines that are broken up by long ascenders and descenders. The small i forms a basic ornamental element which, through its regular repetition, gives the Humanistika its typical appearance. The DFR layout* of the Humanistika includes the long "s" and all the ligatures familiar from black letter types. This is ideal for setting classical texts – including Latin – in the style of the 15th century. The initials of the humanistic scripts are made up of multiple lines and form the basis for the caps of the Humanistika. Its suitability as a text face means the Humanistika is ideal for high quality documents." *For more info, please follow this link. Click here to see the complete fontlist of Linotype Humanistika™. |
