Zapfino™ has big hyper-flourishes. They should be used sparingly to avoid an overly-fancy expression in a work. Depending on the design, arrange them in the first line of a text or at the bottom of the final sentence. Inside a quotation all lines must be carefully balanced to get the stroke of a hyper-flourish between two words or between two characters. 
Sometimes swash characters might touch each other or overlap in a centered composition. In this case, the line with the swash characters in it should be moved a little to the left or to the right side for optical centering correction. 
Zapfino™ No. 1 used as all caps should always be well spaced. Words in small caps, on the contrary, should always be spaced just a little. 
Jubilee figures, e.g. for diplomas or certificates, can be connected with ornaments as demonstrated in this example. In addition, they can be printed in a large size or printed in red or another color. 
Raised inititals taken from Zapfino™ can be used with a variety of other typefaces, as here in an example together with Optima™ roman. They should never be used with any other italic alphabets, because the Zapfino™ letters have an extreme slant of 15°.

They should be used at the beginning of a word or to fill a gap between two letters. 
Digitally technology allows effective combinations of letterforms with ornaments. Play with various connections to find the best solution for ending a paragraph.
