Morris Fuller Benton – born 30. 11. 1872 in Milwaukee, USA, died 30. 6. 1948 in Morristown, USA – engineer, type designer. After training as a mechanic and engineer, Benton jointed the ATF, where he became type designer and in-house designer with ATF. The prolific American Type Founders (ATF) designer Morris Fuller Benton created the Broadway typeface in 1928-1929. Broadway is imbued with American 1920s-era zeitgeist, and still appears in city scenes all around the world: Companies use Broadway in their logos, hairdressers use Broadway in advertisements, and musicals announce their presence with Broadway on theater marquees. This font should be used exclusively in large sizes.
