American designer Joel Kaden designed 1974 the font ITC American Typewriter™ together with Tony Stan. It is an ode to the invention that shaped reading habits and the idea of legibility, the typewriter. The contemporary New York letter and type designer Tony Stan was born 1917 and died 1988. He created the following fonts: ITC American Typewriter™ (1974, with Joel Kaden), ITC Garamond™ (1977), ITC Cheltenham® (1978), ITC Century® (1980), ITC Berkeley Old Style™ (1983).
