Devanagari

Supported languages
At the moment, the Monotype, Linotype and ITC libraries only contained one Devanagari typeface family available for general licensing. This is the Saral™ family.
The character set of the Saral fonts, which are Unicode-encoded OpenType fonts, supports the following Indian languages: Hindi, Marathi, Nepali. Depending on the complexity of the text, users may find the Saral fonts adequate for other languages as well, including Bhili, Bhojpuri, Gujari, Kashmiri, Konkani, Magahi, Maithili, Marwari, Newari, Pahari (Garhwali and Kumaoni), Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Sherpa and Tharu.

Font format
All fonts are available in OpenType format, which means they can be used under both Mac OS and Windows. This also provides better control over the position of the vowels, as well as enabling the use of a larger character set.

Extras
The Saral fonts for Devanagari include all required OpenType features for the proper representation of Devanagari (glyph position-ing and shaping, substitution of half forms and conjunct forms, etc). The Saral fonts also contain a complete latin character set, based on Helvetica®.

Minimum character set
All Hebrew fonts from Monotype, Linotype and ITC have at least the following character set:
