The Jury chooses the winners
February 19th 2004 will always stay one of the most important days for all participants of Linotype’s Type Design Contest 2003. On this special day the Jury of honorable and world famous type designers and typographers, came together to judge on the winning typefaces from the 4th International Type Design Contest announced by Linotype.
Out of 148 entries, 250 type designs and approx. 700 weights it took Ed Benguiat (USA), Jill Bell (USA), John Hudson (Canada), Erik Spiekerman (Germany), Gerard Unger (Netherlands) and Akira Kobayashi (Japan and Germany) the entire day to choose the most talented and outstanding typefaces. It wasn’t easy – that’s for sure! And to give a little taste: It’s an expert choice of winners! And the winner is ... Sorry, we can only publish this information after the official awards were handed over. The winners will be announced at the award ceremony on May 6th. Stay with us ... we will keep you informed.
