Monotype Broadway is a heavy display face cut by American Type Founders and Lanston Monotype in the late 1920s. The lowercase and Engraved versions were added by Sol Hess of Lanston Monotype in 1928-1929. Monotype Broadway is a distinctive design with heavy main strokes and thin hairlines. A useful display font, particularly where a feeling of 1930s Art Deco design is required. Sensitively re-drawn for digital setting, this version maintains the characteristics of the letterpress original.
Broadway is a trademark of The Monotype Corporation and may be registered in certain jurisdictions.
