Critzler, 1997

A fun font of the TakeType No. 2.1.

Linotype Mindline is a creation of Critzler. He was inspired by the font designs of Neville Brody, which proved that typography can indeed be newly invented. Linotype Mindline should be seen as an experiment which strives to take font design in new directions. The eye has to really work to recognize the individual letters. Linotype Mindline is available in two weights, Mindline Inside and Mindline Outside, which combine well with each other.
The idea behind Linotype Mindline came to Critzler one day as he rode the train through Berlin. One of the new S-Bahn trains was coming from the other direction and Critzler noticed that the windows of the new wagons looked completely different from those of the old and they reminded him of the form of an "M". He immediately began to sketch and sure enough, the "M" of Linotype Mindline looks just like the windows of the new S-Bahn trains.
Linotype Mindline is particularly suited for use in logos or in the background of graphics.
