Born in 1926 in Holliday, Texas, Doyald Young is a graphic designer, typographer, and teacher, as well as author and publisher of books about logo design and calligraphy. He has instructed at the Los Angeles City College, Los Angeles Trade Technical Jr. College, and at Art Center College of Design, where he was a teacher for over 27 years. From Art Center, he received the title “Inaugural Master of the School.” For over 45 years, he has lived in Sherman Oaks, California.
