New, well-equipped calligraphic and ornate fonts
This month, we present calligraphic and ornamental fireworks, with a variety of handwritten and ornate fonts. Many of the new and fresh fonts are equipped with countless letter alternatives, ligatures and ornate elements, which helps create very unique logos and wordmarks.
CA Texteron (Cape-Arcona)
The text font CA Texteron from Stefan Claudius is hard to classify, since it unites the dynamism of the Renaissance Antiqua with the more static elements of the neoclassical style. The combination of round and angular forms, in some cases in the same letter, lend the font a particular flair.
CA Recape (Cape-Arcona)
Thomas Schostok describes his font CA Recape as a kind of “best of” for the American fonts of the 1950s. The beautiful and somewhat unusual vintage family is best suited to logo design, headlines, or posters, thanks to its countless letter alternatives and ligatures. In a second style, the letters have a more raw outline.
P22 Declaration (P22)
The P22 Declaration font family by Paul Hunt, Richard Kegler and Terry Wüdenbachs is based on fonts from the Declaration of Independence of the United States. The family not only includes styles of the typical, somewhat irregular handwriting of the 18th century, but also the Gothic type of the heading and the signatures of the signatories.
P22 Eaglefeather (P22)
Richard Kegler, Frank Lloyd Wright and David Siegel designed the Eaglefeather font family, which contains numerous, different styles. Fonts that Frank Lloyd Wright designed for the Eaglerock project (1922) form the basis of the Eaglefeather font and recall elements of the Art Deco era as well as different hand writing.
Acrom (The Northern Block)
Acrom is a designed grotesque from Mariya V. Pigoulevskaya. The shapes of the font appear less technical, however, and much more modern, natural and geometrical.
No. Seven (Fenotype)
The brush font No. Seven from Emil Karl Bertell is available in three weights. Numerous ligatures, swashes and alternative letters form the basis of this very diverse font image. Fitting styles with small caps and ornaments round out the symbol options.
The Carpenter (Fenotype)
The elegant and diverse font The Carpenter from Emil Karl Bertell, with its energetically designed, connected letters, is captivating. Numerous letter alternatives and styles with pictograms, ornaments and patterns enable a very unique font image.
Aire (Maximiliano Sproviero)
Aire by Maximiliano Sproviero is a friendly Antiqua with a light, almost delicate character. The generously designed, easily legible letters of the basic font are suited to shorter texts. The many ligatures and swash variants, however, make the font an ornamental firework, supported by the pictogram style Aire Fleurons.
The basis of the Evergreen font by Alejandro Paul and Angel Koziupa is organic shapes with an inlaid white line, which recalls leaves. Even without the white line in the Evergreen Dusk style, however, the letters make for a very floral, organic liveliness. Flowers and butterflies from a pictogram style make for the perfect experience of nature.
Amour (Cultivated Mind)
Narrow characters with unconventional distortions that emphasize the height of the letters characterize the hand-painted Amour font from Cindy Kinash. Use this font for Valentine’s Day greetings, for example, or whenever you want to express your love.
Desire (Borges Lettering)
Countless ligatures, letter alternatives, catchwords and ornaments make the noble Antiqua Desire from Charles Borges de Oliveira the ideal font for logos and wordmarks. This small video demonstrates the typographical possibilities: Alphabytes
Abigail Adams (Three Islands Press)
The basis of the Abigail Adams font by Brian Willson are the handwritten letters of Abigail Smith Adams, the wife of the second President of the United States. Countless alternative letters, word fragments and blots help this font create the appearance of a very realistic handwritten text from the 18th century.
Botanical Scribe (Botanical Scribe)
The calligraphic font Botanical Scribe by Brian Willson was inspired by the captions that famous illustrator and painter Pierre-Joseph Redouté added to his flower paintings. The elegant and easily legible font is equipped with countless letter alternatives and is suited to formal invitations or historical simulations, for example.
