Linotype Humanistika
Hellmut G. Bomm about Linotype Humanistika™: "A handwritten humanistic minuscule from the end of the 15th century provided the inspiration for the Humanistika. Scripts such as this served as a model for the first roman cast types, such as those from Nikolaus Jenson (1470).
The strong modeling and powerful ornamental character create pronounced lines that are broken up by long ascenders and descenders. The small i forms a basic ornamental element which, through its regular repetition, gives the Humanistika its typical appearance.
The initials of the humanistic scripts are made up of multiple lines and form the basis for the caps of the Humanistika.
Its suitability as a text face means the Humanistika is ideal for high quality documents."
Linotype Humanistika contains two weights, Linotype Humanistika and Linotype Humanistika DFR . DFR layouts (Deutsche Fraktur) include historic ligatures and a long s. They are provided free of charge with many black and broken letter faces from Linotype. For more info, please follow this link.
